This change reorganized Parliament's roles and set the scene for a clash between Parliament (and the Crown) that lasted until 1866.
Oliver Cromwell attempts to restore England to Roman Catholicism
The Reformation led to the re-establishment of the Church of England, and in 1649 Oliver Cromwell signed King Charles I's death warrant. He was an officer in the Rump parliament (1649-53) and ruled the brief-lived Commonwealth of England. In 1650, he was selected to command the English campaign against the Irish Confederate and Royalist coalition. The English forces defeated Ireland's army and occupied Ireland. They passed the Penal Laws. The English forces also waged a war against the Scottish army in 1650 and 1651.

How to get an honor star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce established the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. The HWOF is located in Los Angeles at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star is a symbol of someone who contributed to the production of motion pictures, television, radio and theater or other aspects popular culture. There are 1,922 individuals currently listed on HWOF.
You will need to submit your application to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in order to be considered for membership to the HWOF. Once submitted, your name will be sent to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. A bronze plaque with the name of your choice is included. This plaque will be attached to a base of concrete in front the designated star.
You may apply to be a star if you are nominated by a HWOF member or if you make significant contributions to television, radio, TV, theatre, music or other forms of "popular culture". The nominations are evaluated by a committee, which then decides whether or not to approve them. If they decide to approve, they write a letter to the address of the applicant explaining their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then charges $25 and forwards the money on to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.
The department issues the Hollywood Chamber of commerce a check, payable to it. The check is sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The fee is then paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at $12.50. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.
Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. To be eligible for the HWOF, the artist must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce any balance. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. For example, if your first nomination was in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if it had been in 1980, you would owe 10,000.
If you want to remove yourself from the HWOF, you need to contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and pay off the remainder of your debt. They will remove your name permanently from the HWOF list.
How old must one be to get a HWOF star
To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
